What is Octadecyl Erucamide?

Octadecyl Erucamide is waxy odorless solids, containing a long carbon chain and the polarity of the amide group in the molecular structure, giving it particularly excellent surface activity and good heat stability, and suitable for higher processing temperatures, as well as more durable smoothness and better anti-sticking effect. The product is insoluble in water, soluble in solvents such as ethanol, ethyl ether, acetone and xylene. The flash point is around 230℃. This product has passed SGS environmental protection test, in line with the EU RoHS environmental directive, can be allowed for food containers and food packaging materials (GB9685-2008).

Applications:

• One of its important usages is to be antisticking, lubricant, release agent and anti-static agent of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene(PP). And also, it can be used for CPP, BOPP, LDPE, LLDPE, EVA, PVC, PVDF, PVDC, PU film, such as river and multilayer co-extrusion film, high transmission, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and metallocene polyethylene smooth agent and slip agent, can significantly reduce the products (film or plate) on the surface of the dynamic and static coefficient of friction, improve the process ability and packing efficiency.
• Erucamide(high purity) has a good stability at high temperature. It shows a specially wonderful property at higher temperature comparing with other amides.
• Erucamide(high purity) can be used as antisticking, anti-static and lubricant in plastic film (food-grade), cosmetics additives, dispersing agent for printing ink and dye, water-proof and anti-fog agent for paper making and textile industries, foam-stabilizer and metal-wire drawing lubricant.
• Erucamide(high purity) can be used as a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE, TEO, TPU) and fluorine rubber demoulding agent, surface smooth and bright agent, lubricant of engineering plastics.
