UV absorber 3638

UV absorber UV-3638 is a benzoxazine ketone type ultraviolet absorber, capable of absorbing ultraviolet rays ranging from 280 to 400nm, with an absorption peak at 349nm. Its absorption range covers UVA and UVB, and its absorption efficiency is several times that of ordinary ultraviolet absorbers. The thermal degradation temperature is as high as 371℃.

It has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, resistance to extraction, low volatility, low migration, wide absorption range, and high absorption efficiency. It also has the properties of blocking short-wave blue light and delaying physical loss.

It is suitable for PET, PBT, PC, and PA processed at high temperatures, especially for transparent PET films, sheets, and plates, as well as transparent PC films, sheets, and plates.

Why UV Absorber 3638 Outperforms Standard UV Stabilizers

UV Absorber 3638 is a next-generation hydroxyphenyl triazine UV absorber engineered for high-performance polymers exposed to harsh UV radiation and elevated processing temperatures.

Performance Advantages

  • Maintains transparency in optical-grade polycarbonate
  • No plate-out during extrusion or injection molding
  • Enhanced weather resistance vs benzotriazole UV absorbers
  • Stable under repeated thermal cycles

Application

  • Optical PC sheets (lenses, LED covers)
  • Automotive glazing materials
  • High-end PET packaging
  • UV-curable coatings & inks

Recommended Dosage

0.1% – 0.5% depending on polymer system and exposure conditions.

UV Stability Mechanism

UV 3638 absorbs harmful ultraviolet radiation in the 300–400 nm region and dissipates it as low-energy heat, preventing polymer chain degradation and discoloration.

This mechanism significantly extends the lifetime of polymer materials under outdoor exposure.
