Photoinitiator 907 is an efficient free radical photoinitiator that can be used alone or in combination with other photoinitiators. Its unique high absorption and non-yellowing properties result in excellent curing speed and effect.
When used in combination with photoinitiator ITX and photoinitiator 184, it enhances light absorption and improves curing efficiency. It is suitable for offset inks, screen inks, solder mask inks, paper inks, plastic inks, metal inks, especially for colored systems curing, particularly for blue system curing. The general dosage is 1-5%.
Applications of Photoinitiator 907:
Used in colored ink systems, paper/metal and plastic varnishes and electronic inks. It can also be used as an ultraviolet absorber in industries such as cosmetics.
Typical Applications
- Graphic arts - Suitable for UV-curable inks, overprint varnishes, and other printed coatings that need fast cure response.
- Industrial coatings - Used in wood, plastic, and metal coating systems where UV curing helps improve throughput.
- Adhesives & electronics - Relevant in UV-curable adhesives and electronics applications where controlled radical curing is required.
Formulation Notes
- Photoinitiator 907 is a useful option when a formulary needs efficient UV response in acrylate systems. For best results, formulation decisions should consider coating thickness, pigment load, lamp type, conveyor speed, and desired surface-versus-through cure balance.
- Because photoinitiator selection depends on the full formulation package, production trials are recommended before scale-up. Matching the initiator to the resin, monomer blend, and curing hardware is often more important than choosing by name alone.
