Erucamide is a widely used fatty acid amide slip additive designed for plastic films and polyolefin materials. It migrates to the surface of the plastic to reduce friction and improve processing efficiency.
Erucamide(high purity) is waxy odorless solids, containing a long carbon chain and the polarity of the amide group in the molecular structure, giving it particularly excellent surface activity and good heat stability, and suitable for higher processing temperatures, as well as more durable smoothness and better anti-sticking effect. The product is insoluble in water, soluble in solvents such as ethanol, ethyl ether, acetone and xylene. The flash point is around 230℃. This product has passed SGS environmental protection test, in line with the EU RoHS environmental directive, can be allowed for food containers and food packaging materials (GB9685-2008).
| Property | Erucamide | Oleamide |
|---|---|---|
| Migration Speed | Slow | Fast |
| Slip Performance Stability | Long-lasting | Short-term |
| Best Use | Long-term film storage | Quick slip effect |
| Blooming Behavior | Controlled | Higher risk |
After processing, Erucamide migrates slowly to the polymer surface, forming a lubricating layer. This reduces the coefficient of friction (COF) and improves handling performance during converting operations.

Erucamide is non-dangerous goods stored in a cool, ventilated, dry place, away from light to preserve.
For long-term applications, Erucamide provides more stable performance.
Slip agents reduce friction, while antiblocking agents prevent film layers from sticking.
