Var yellow 33 is Yellow powder. Alkaline reduction for the red light purple leuco , acidity reduction leuco for yellow.
Vat Yellow 33 is a classical vat dye grade chosen where a bright and durable yellow is required on cellulosic substrates.
It is formulated for easy vatting and stable performance in commercial dyehouses. Our grade focuses on: reliable tinctorial strength,
low speck and minimal migration in both continuous and batch processes.
Key benefits
- Bright, clean yellow shade with excellent levelness
- Excellent wash fastness and good light fastness
- Low migration in printing paste and finished goods
Applications
- Exhaust vat dyeing of cotton and viscose
- Printing (vat pigment paste systems)
- Special finishes and high-temperature processes
Supply forms
- Powder (standard micron size)
- Wet paste (25%–50% solids)
- Micronized dispersion for improved reactivity
Application & Processing Guide — High Level
- Vatting: Convert Vat Yellow 33 to its soluble leuco form using an appropriate reducing agent (eg. sodium dithionite) in an alkaline vat (commonly NaOH). Maintain controlled temperature and pH during reduction to avoid over-reduction or hydrolysis.
- Dyeing/Printing: Use recommended carrier systems or pad-dry-steam for printing. After application, oxidize (air or hydrogen peroxide systems) to regenerate the insoluble form locked onto the fiber. Rinse and apply standard after-treatments to improve fastness.
- Important — the above is a simplified overview. Always follow lab-scale trials and your dyehouse safety procedures. For production recipes and optimized vat recipes for reactive blends/contact with synthetics, consult our technical team.

Note: The data contained here are based on our current knowledge and experience. It is the responsibility of user to test our products before the final application.
What quality control is performed?
Every batch undergoes spectrophotometric shade control, solids measurement and stability testing. We can provide batch certificates on request.
How do I optimize fastness on light exposure?
Light fastness depends on fiber, dyeing depth, and finishing. Use appropriate optical brighteners and UV stabilizers in final finishing if needed; also ensure complete oxidation and after-wash to remove unfixed dye.
What sample sizes do you offer?
We typically supply 50 g lab samples, 1 kg trial packs and industrial sample drums. Contact sales for custom sample requests and private label trials.
