Vat Red 29

Vat Red 29 has a purple-red color appearance and is brilliant purple in concentrated sulfuric acid. After dilution, it has a brilliant red precipitate. The leuco body formed by the dye in the alkaline powder solution is red and green, and the acid powder solution is Dark red light brown.

Vat Red 29 is Purple red powder, Alkaline reduction leuco for red light purple; Acid reduction leuco for dark red light brown. In concentrated sulfuric acid for brilliant purple and dilution after brilliant red precipitation.

TRADE NAME:Vat Scarlet R,Vat bright red R

Key features

  • Application: cotton (vat dyeing), jig/dip dyeing, PVA and silk; also processed as an organic pigment for inks, plastics and coatings.
  • Fastness profile: excellent wet-fastness and good to very good lightfastness (commonly rated 4–6 in standard xenon/wash tests depending on substrate and processing).
  • Leuco behavior: soluble in reduced (leuco) form — typical vat dye reduction/oxidation dyeing cycle required.
  • Leveling: moderate — tends to require careful control of reduction, temperature and alkali for even shade.
  • Processing notes: stable in formulation, can be milled into pigment pastes; requires proper reductive vatting agents and controlled oxidation for best fastness.

Application:

Vat Red 29 Mainly used for cotton fabric jig dyeing and disseminated, levelness and affinity medium, to dead cotton covering power is good. Can be directly printed or discharge printing, dyeing PVA and silk, still can processed into organic pigment.

Use condition:

1.Vat Red 29(Vat bright red R) When it is used for cotton product dyeing and dip dyeing, it is most suitable to use B method, and then apply to method A. When dyeing with nail method, it also needs to add salt to promote dyeing. Generally, it is reduced by large bath ratio, reducing temperature. 50 ° C.

2. Vat bright red R leuco body has moderate affinity to cotton fiber, moderate leveling, and the dyeing curve is shown in Figure 4-5-15. The hiding power of dead cotton is good, the light fastness is good, mainly used for dyeing, It is one of the most important dyes in vat red chromatography. It is also suitable for suspension padding in addition to dyeing and dip dyeing.

3. Vat bright red R is suitable for direct printing and discharge printing of cotton.

4.Vat bright red R is suitable for the dyeing of viscose, vinylon, polyester/viscose medium and long fibers, etc. After the dyeing, the vinylon is darker than the cotton fabric, but the color is slightly darker.

Precautions

Vat bright red R should be stored in a dry, cool place.

FAQ

How is Vat Red 29 applied to fabric?

Applied via vatting: reduce to the soluble leuco form in an alkaline reducing bath, impregnate the fabric, then oxidize (air or chemical) to regenerate the insoluble pigment inside the fiber.

Which fibers are best for Vat Red 29?

Best for cotton, viscose and other cellulosic fibers. Not recommended for polyester unless used with special carriers or aftertreatments.

What fastnesses can I expect?

Excellent wash and wet fastness, good lightfastness for a red; very low migration once properly oxidized.

Any special processing notes?

Control reduction level, bath pH and oxidation time carefully—over-reduction or weak oxidation affects shade and fastness. Use proper dispersing and wetting agents for even penetration.

Safety and storage?

Store cool, dry, away from strong oxidizers. Use standard PPE when handling reducing agents and alkaline baths; follow local waste/discharge regulations for vatting effluents.
