UV absorber UV-988 is a benzyl methylenedioic acid ester type ultraviolet absorber, capable of absorbing ultraviolet rays ranging from 280 to 350nm, with the absorption peak at 322nm. It has outstanding UVB absorption performance, with a molar absorptivity as high as 40.00 l/mol·cm.
It has good compatibility, low volatility, resistance to water extraction, low migration, good thermal stability, and high absorption efficiency. It does not affect the initial color and does not react with metal ions.
It is suitable for polyesters, polycarbonates, polymethyl methacrylate, polyvinyl chloride, and polystyrene, especially for transparent engineering plastics. The general dosage is 0.1-0.5%.
Used in various plastics such as PC, PO, PET, PVC, and PMMA, especially for transparent engineering plastics like PC, PS, and PET.
