UV absorber UV-DPDT also known as Neo Heliopan AP,Mfsorb 521.
UV absorber UV-DPDT is a water-soluble benzimidazole type ultraviolet absorber, capable of absorbing ultraviolet rays ranging from 290 to 370nm, with an absorption peak at 335nm. It has the characteristics of good water solubility, low volatility, good dispersion, low migration, good thermal stability, and high absorption efficiency.
It is suitable for water-soluble sunscreens, water-soluble adhesives, and water-based coatings. The general dosage is 0.1-0.5%.
Advantages & Features of UV Absorber DPDT
- Highly Efficient UVA Protection
DPDT is a water-soluble UV filter designed for strong protection in the UVA II range, helping shield formulations from long-wave UV exposure. It is reported to absorb mainly around 335 nm and cover the 320–370 nm region. - Water-Soluble and Easy to Formulate
Unlike many oil-soluble UV filters, DPDT is water-soluble, which makes it especially suitable for transparent water-based systems and helps formulators design lighter, less greasy products. - Excellent Photostability
DPDT is described as a stable and efficient UVA absorber, offering reliable performance under light exposure and helping maintain long-lasting UV protection in finished formulations.
Applications:
Used in sun protection and daily care products.
