UV absorber 1988 is a benzylidene malonate type UV stabilizer which absorbs strongly in the high energy (low wavelength) part of the UV spectrum. It belongs to the class of UV-B absorbers which protect the stabilized substrates from photodegradation by the matrix screening of UV light.
Used in solvent-based coatings, industrial coatings,UV-curable coatings and varnishes with high color requirements;in plastic systems, recommended for PVC, polyester, PC, polyamide, styrene, EVA copolymer, cellulose products.
