Sulphur Yellow 2

High-strength sulphur-class dye formulated for deep and medium-dark shades on cellulose and certain synthetic blends.

Sulphur Yellow 2 is Deep green light yellow to dark red light yellow.It is Brown powder. Insoluble in water: in sodium sulfide solution for yellow brown solution; In concentrated sulfuric acid partly dissolved, dilution after yellow sulfur precipitation. Dyeing content in alkaline insurance powder in a slight change: in sodium hypochlorite in almost all fade; Join concentrated sulfuric acid into dark orange.

Relative name

Sodyesul Liquid Yellow GLCF;Sulphur Light Yellow GC;Sulphur Yellow GR;Sulphur Yellow GC;Sulphur Yellow GCD;Sulphur Yellow 2G;

Applications:

Mainly used for cotton, hemp, viscose and vinylon/cotton blended fabric dyeing, suitable for dye corduroy, also used in leather dyeing.

Typical Dyeing & Handling Notes

  • Pre-mix powder into a stable dispersion before dosing; consider using a wetting agent and high-shear mixing for powder batches.
  • For cellulosic substrates: standard sulphur dye vat reduction → exhaustion → oxidation (air/bleaching agent) → wet-fastness improvement steps.
  • Control oxidant levels carefully to avoid excessive discoloration or loss of shade.
  • Test on pilot/production scale to optimize liquor ratio, temperature profile and post-treatment.

Can I get Sulphur Yellow 2 as a liquid dispersion?

Yes — many manufacturers offer pre-dispersed liquid grades for easier dosing. Contact our team for availability and stability data.

What fastness can I expect?

Fastness varies with substrate and process; typical data shows moderate-to-good washing fastness and good rubbing fastness after correct oxidation and after-treatment. Run tests under your process conditions.
