Sulphur Blue 15

Industrial-grade sulphur dye engineered for deep navy and saturated blue shades on cotton, viscose and blends.

Sulphur Blue 15 is Blue gray powder. Slightly soluble in water, not soluble in alcohol and benzene, soluble in Sodium sulfide solution for olive. In concentrated sulfuric acid for dark blue, dark blue precipitation after dilution. Dyeing content in alkaline insurance powder for dark yellow, after oxidation can restore the original colour and lustre; In Sodium hypochlorite solution all fade, join concentrated sulfuric acid into dark blue.

How to apply — condensed process (for experienced mills)

  • Prepare alkaline reduction bath and convert Sulphur Blue 15 to its leuco form under controlled temperature.
  • Apply by padding, exhaust or package methods with specified liquor ratio.
  • Oxidize by air or mild oxidizer, rinse thoroughly, then neutralize and soap to fix dye and remove unfixed residues.

We recommend trial runs at pilot scale and adherence to local effluent guidelines.

What makes Sulphur Blue 15 suitable for large-scale cotton dyeing?

Sulphur Blue 15 is designed for production-scale dyeing of cotton and other cellulosic fibers. Its reduction behavior is stable, allowing uniform penetration during exhaust or package dyeing. When properly reduced and oxidized, it delivers consistent deep blue to navy shades with controlled cost per kilogram, making it suitable for continuous or batch operations.

Are special after-treatments required when using Sulphur Blue 15?

After proper oxidation, soaping and neutralization are strongly recommended. These steps remove unfixed dye residues and improve wash fastness and rubbing performance. For demanding end uses, additional after-treatments can be applied to enhance overall fastness properties, depending on fabric construction and customer requirements.
