TRADE NAME:

Fluorescent Yellow 3G,Rosaplast Yellow F5G,Keyplast Fluorecent Yellow 3R,Hostasol Yellow 3G

Main Feature of Solvent Yellow 98

  • ‍Solvent yellow 98 has the characteristics of light fastness, heat resistance and high temperature;
  • Fluorescent yellow 3G has bright colors and high coloring intensity;
  • Fast fluorescent yellow S has a wide application range and excellent fastness, temperature resistance and migration resistance.
  • yellow orange powder. Insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents. This product has beautiful fluorescence, good light and heat resistance‍

Preparation method

4-nitro-1,8-dithiocarbamate is ammoniated with o-aminothiophenol, imidized with octadecylamine, diazotized with sodium nitrite, closed-loop with copper sulfate, and then boiled with alkali.

That is to say, benzo-3,4-zz formic acid tincture was condensed with octadecylamine.

Applications of Solvent Yellow 98

Mainly used in coloring of terylene and fibre, also used in manufacturing of masterbatch for colorling  terylene.such as PS, HIPS, ABS, PC, PMMA, AS, PET, RPVC, SAN, etc.

Specific application fields of Solvent Yellow 98

Due to its fluorescent properties and extreme stability, Solvent Yellow 98 is mainly used in high-end and special industrial fields. The key application scenarios are as follows:

  • High-temperature engineering plastics: Applied to polyetheretherketone (PEEK), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), and polyimide (PI) plastics for manufacturing aerospace components, electronic connectors, and automotive engine parts, where it withstands high-temperature processing and service environments.
  • Fluorescent coatings and inks: Used in safety warning coatings (such as road traffic signs, construction safety helmets), fluorescent inks for anti-counterfeiting printing (luxury goods labels, banknote anti-counterfeiting), and emergency signal markers, leveraging its strong fluorescence for high visibility.
  • Electronic and electrical materials: Coloring of heat-resistant insulating materials (such as polyimide films, silicone rubber seals) for electronic devices, ensuring color stability under high temperature and high humidity conditions.
  • Specialty lubricants and greases: Used for coloring high-temperature lubricating oils (for industrial furnaces, aerospace engines) and lithium-based greases, facilitating equipment maintenance and fault diagnosis through color identification.
  • Aerospace and military fields: Applied to the coloring of lightweight composite materials (such as carbon fiber-reinforced plastics) for aircraft interiors and military equipment components, meeting strict environmental resistance requirements.‍
