Solvent Yellow 2

Solvent Yellow 2 is a solvent-soluble azo dye with bright yellow color. It is widely used to color non-aqueous systems such as plastics, printing inks, waxes, oils and fuels. It exhibits good tinting strength in organic carriers and has limited water solubility.

Formulation tips

• Pre-disperse solvent dyes in a suitable carrier resin or solvent at elevated temperature under agitation to achieve uniform color.
• Avoid strong acids or alkalines during processing which may cause dye degradation or color shift.
• Test final substrate for light and heat fastness under expected service conditions.
