Solvent Orange 62

Bright reddish-orange powder for inks, coatings, wood stains, leather finishes and plastics. Excellent solubility in polar organic solvents.

Overview

Solvent Orange 62 is a metal-complex solvent dye widely used where high transparency and bright reddish-orange shades are required. It shows good solubility in organic solvents (alcohols, ketones, glycol ethers) and good compatibility with common resin systems, making it suitable for printing inks, wood stains, leather finishes, hot stamping foils and solvent-based coatings.

Key benefits

  • Vivid reddish-orange shade with excellent transparency
  • High solubility in polar organic solvents and good resin compatibility
  • Good light & heat fastness for outdoor and indoor applications
  • Available in powder and liquid dispersions; multiple packing options

Typical industrial applications

Printing inks (flexographic, gravure, stationery inks), wood stains & coatings, leather finishing, polyester & PVC coatings, hot stamping foils and specialty plastics.

Recommended use & sample recipe (example)

For solvent-based ink: dissolve 1–5% (w/w) Solvent Orange 62 in the vehicle (e.g. ethyl acetate / ketone blend) and adjust to desired shade. Always perform small-batch compatibility & migration tests for food-contact or sensitive substrates.
