Solvent Brown 43 is metal complex solvent dye, with excellent solubility, wide range of harm and jade selection. With a variety of resins have good compatibility, bright colors, and good heat resistance.
Solvent Brown 43 is a chromium-containing metal-complex solvent dye (azo metal-complex class) produced as a brown powder or concentrated liquid stain. It is designed for solvent-based systems and offers strong tinting strength, good heat and light stability, and high compatibility with many organic solvents — making it suitable for wood stains, printing inks, coatings, hot stamping foils and leather finishes.

Solvent Brown 43 dissolves readily in mid-polar organic solvents. Typical solvents used by manufacturers include 1-methoxy-2-propanol (MMP) as a ready liquid carrier, ethanol, MEK, ethyl acetate and toluene — concentration and temperature affect dissolution rate, so pre-dissolving with gentle warming and stirring is common practice.
Use a pre-dissolved concentrate in a compatible solvent (e.g., methoxypropanol or a blend recommended by your supplier), add slowly under agitation to the varnish at room temperature, and perform accelerated storage tests. Use migration-inhibiting resins or binders if the finished system shows bleeding on plastics or hot-stamped foils.
Typical technical data report light fastness around 6–7 (good) and heat resistance commonly specified ≥160–180°C for short exposure; exact performance depends on binder and formulation, so always confirm with the supplier's technical datasheet and run your own application tests.
