Rutile Titanium Dioxide R909

Rutile Titanium Dioxide R909 is specifically for coatings. It is produced through an advanced sulfuric acid process, with particle size control technology and special coating technology. The surface is coated with inorganic materials and undergoes special organic treatment, ensuring stable chemical properties and excellent pigment performance. It has good whiteness, high gloss, high covering power, strong masking ability, excellent weather resistance and anti-frosting properties, good wetting properties, and easy dispersion.

R909 can give the coating a vivid color, enhance the mechanical strength and adhesion of the coating, prevent cracks and peeling, prevent the penetration of ultraviolet rays or moisture, improve the anti-aging performance of the coating, and extend the service life of the coating.

Applications:

R909 is mainly used in various fields such as building coatings, water-based coatings, industrial coatings, powder coatings, marine-specific paints, coil steel coatings, anti-corrosion paints, and anti-fouling paints.

Safety and Storage:

This product is safe and comes in a white powder form. During transportation, it should be protected from moisture. When storing, it should be placed in a cool, ventilated and dry place.

When handling, avoid inhaling dust. If contaminated, it can be cleaned with soap and water. For specific instructions, please refer to the corresponding material safety data sheet.

FAQ

Q: What makes R909 different from general-purpose rutile TiO₂?
A: R909 is specially coated and processed for coatings — it emphasizes high hiding power, gloss retention and surface treatment that improves dispersion in paint formulations.
Q: Is R909 suitable for exterior architectural paints?
A: Yes — R909 is formulated for long-term weatherability and color/gloss retention in exterior coatings.
Q: How should I incorporate R909 into a waterborne paint?
A: Use staged addition with controlled shear. Pre-wetting with a wetting agent followed by high-speed dispersion improves pigment wetting and reduces agglomerates.
Q: Can you provide a sample and technical support for formulation trials?
A: Yes — request a sample via the quote/contact form and our technical team will assist with formulation guidance.
