Rutile Titanium Dioxide R210

R210 is a kind of rutile-type titanium white pigment. It is produced through an advanced sulfuric acid process. On the basis of inorganic silicon and aluminum coating and special organic treatment, inorganic additives are added again and surface dispersion technology is adopted for activation treatment. This changes the molecular cohesion between titanium dioxide particles, enhances the rheological properties of the powder material, improves the dispersion performance, and makes its distribution in the medium ideal.

R210 is a cost-effective product specially developed to meet market demands. It has good dispersibility, good whiteness, covering power, color-fixing power, low oil absorption, and good wetting properties.

Key Features

  • Cost-effective rutile grade designed for general-purpose use
  • High whiteness & hiding power for superior opacity
  • Good dispersibility and low oil absorption — easy to formulate
  • Stable weathering & color retention in outdoor coatings
  • Available in bulk powder; surface-treated versions on request

Applications:

R210 is a general-purpose, economical, rutile-type titanium dioxide powder, which is widely used in various fields such as paints, coatings, plastics, color concentrates, rubber, inks, leather and paper manufacturing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose R210 for your formulations?

R210 provides a balance of performance and cost — delivering sufficient hiding power and stability for many industrial and decorative coatings where premium grades (higher scattering/purity) are not required. It disperses readily with standard pigment dispersants and is compatible with solvent-borne and many water-borne systems.

Q: What is the main difference between R210 and premium rutile grades?

A: R210 is marketed as an economic/general-purpose rutile grade — it offers good whiteness and hiding power at a lower cost; premium grades (R9xx, etc.) typically have higher scattering power, tighter particle-size control and optimized surface treatment for demanding applications.

Q: Can R210 be used in outdoor architectural coatings?

A: Yes — rutile TiO2 grades like R210 are commonly used in many outdoor coatings thanks to their weather stability; for the highest durability, select grades specifically tailored for exterior exposure.

Q: How should I test R210 before large-scale use?

A: Run lab-scale dispersion trials in your target formulation to confirm opacity, tinting strength and rheology. Check UV/weathering and colorfastness per your product specs.
