For optimal dispersion, start with a high-shear premixing step using a compatible dispersant, then pass the paste through a bead mill or three-roll mill. Monitor viscosity and particle breakup—achieving a uniform micronized distribution improves gloss and hiding power in both solvent and waterborne systems.
To improve weathering performance, formulate with UV absorbers and hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), choose weather-resistant resins, and avoid strongly alkaline environments. Proper film thickness and pigment-to-resin balance also reduce fading under prolonged sun exposure.
