Cationic Black FDL

A production-grade cationic dye engineered for fast fixation and low migration, delivering reliable deep-black shades across lab and mill scales. Offered as powder and pre-dispersed liquid.

Cationic Black FDL (FDL = Fast-Dry / Low-migration) is formulated to meet modern production needs where reduced cycle time and minimized interlayer bleed are critical. Unlike standard trade descriptions, FDL focuses on predictable behavior under continuous processes and robust tolerance to common auxiliary packages.

What makes FDL different?

  • Fast fixation kinetics — engineered for efficient uptake to shorten process windows.
  • Low migration tendency — reduces shade bleed in layered constructions and post-finishing.
  • Flexible formats — supplied as a free-flowing powder or stable liquid dispersion for easy integration.
  • Scale-friendly QA — manufactured with batch records and QA traceability for reproducible lot-to-lot performance.
  • Technical support — lab matching and pilot-run assistance available to accelerate scale-up.

Applications:

Mainly used for medium shade and deep shade acrylic knitted underwear, acrylic loose fiber, acrylic carpet printing, and light shade, medium shade and dark shade bulked yarn dyeing.

Application & Processing Guidance

  • Powder handling: pre-wet and disperse under gentle shear; avoid dry dusting. Use recommended dispersants for best optical yield.
  • Liquid use: homogenize and degas if necessary before metering; ideal for continuous feed systems.
  • Dyebath tips: monitor pH and temperature consistent with cationic dye best practices; auxiliaries can improve leveling and fastness.
  • Fixation: low-temperature fixation is possible for some substrates; consult technical team for process tuning.
  • Scale-up: always run pilot batches and request technical matching samples when migrating to production volumes.

Note: The data contained here are based on our current knowledge and experience. It is the responsibility of user to test our products before the final application.

Does "FDL" indicate a specific industry standard?

"FDL" is our grade identifier emphasizing Fast fixation and Low migration characteristics — it's a formulation target rather than a regulatory standard. Always verify with lab trials for your substrate.

Can FDL be used in pigment-free textile inks?

In some aqueous ink systems, cationic dyes like FDL can be used. Compatibility with binders and migration risk should be validated in ink formulations and print tests.
