Basic Brown 1is in concentrated sulfuric acid and becomes red red after dilution. In concentrated nitric acid, orange solution turns yellow. Dye solution in aqueous solution with hydrochloric acid has no change, and 10% sodium hydroxide has orange precipitation. Cotton dyed with tannin mordant is brown, slightly red under tungsten filament light.

Basic Brown 1 is a cationic (basic) dye widely used in textile, leather, and paper industries.
1. Silk dyeing: it is carried out in acid bath, which is rarely used at present.
2. Acrylic fiber dyeing: the fastness of acrylic fiber dyeing is grade 1~2, grade 4~5, soaping, ironing and dry cleaning.
The fastness is grade 4, dry and wet rubbing fastness is grade 3~4, water immersion fastness is grade 4~5.
3. Wool dyeing: poor fastness to dyeing on wool, grade 1~2 fastness to sunlight, grade 1~2 fastness to soaping.
4. Cotton dyeing: it can be used for the dyeing of tannic mordant cotton fiber. The fastness to sun is grade 1, the fastness to soaping is grade 3~4, the fastness to staining is grade 3, the fastness to water immersion is grade 4, the fastness to staining is grade 3, the fastness to sweat stain is grade 3~4, the fastness to staining is grade 2~3, and the fastness to ironing is grade 3 grade 4, dry and wet rubbing fastness of grade 3 to 4, acid fastness of grade 2 to 3, acetic acid fastness of grade 4 to 5, alkali fastness of grade 1.
5. Others: can be used for leather, paper, bamboo dyeing, as well as the manufacture of lake and solvent dyes.
Basic Brown 1 is mild Allergic dye.
Basic Brown 1 is effective on protein fibers like wool and silk, as well as cellulose fibers such as cotton and paper. Its strong cationic nature ensures uniform dye uptake.
This dye provides excellent light, washing, and rubbing fastness. It maintains color intensity even after repeated laundering or exposure to sunlight.
Yes, Basic Brown 1 can be blended with other cationic or reactive dyes to achieve customized shades, as long as compatibility is verified through testing.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid moisture and extreme temperatures to preserve the dye's quality and performance.
Yes, it is suitable for industrial textile, leather, and paper dyeing processes due to its high solubility, consistent performance, and stable color yield.
