Acid Black 11 Appearance is black powder, slightly soluble in alcohol, brownish red, slightly soluble in acetone. The dye is dark blue in concentrated sulfuric acid, dilute to light reddish brown; orange in concentrated nitric acid. In the sauce color, there is no change in concentrated hydrochloric acid; the concentrated sodium hydroxide solution is converted into brown magenta.

Application:
- 1.Wool dyeing: Acid medium black T is dyed in a weak acid bath with a pH of 4 to 4.5. The pH of the dye bath should not exceed 4.5, otherwise the dyeing liquid is gray and turbid, which is easy to cause dyeing. In addition to the use of fine and woollen fabrics, it is also used in the dyeing of woollen yarns. The acid medium black T dyeing curve is shown in Figure 9-5-19.
- 2.Silk dyeing: post-media or pre-media method can be used. The color fastness (grade) is shown in the table below.
- 3. Nylon dyeing: only after the media method.
- 4. Blending of blended fabrics: When the wool is dyed with a variety of fibers in the same bath, the color of the nylon is similar to that of the wool, the silk is slightly shallow, and the diacetate, cotton and viscose are stained.
- 5. Printing: It can be directly printed on the chromium acetate pretreated wool fabric.
Precautions
- 1. Domestic acid medium black T has different solubility from EriochromeBlackT and Chromegene BlackETOO, and other properties are basically the same.
- 2. The black color of wool dyed has a certain brown light, which is not as black as the acid medium black 6BN.
- 3.Acid Black 11 can not be dissolved in boiling water to prevent the dye from being difficult to dissolve after being jelly-like. If the dye is used in a large amount, it should be beaten with cold water first, diluted with a large number of hot water and then boiled until the foam disappears. So that it is fully dissolved, otherwise it will cause coloring or affect the rubbing fastness of the fabric.
- 4. Acid Black 11 is more acidic than other acidic medium dyes, and the dyeing solution should be clear reddish purple to be used for dyeing. Adding 0.3%~0.5% leveling agent O to the dye bath is beneficial to dyes. Diffusion and penetration, and can improve the staining of mercerized cotton and viscose yarn used for weaving side and side words.
FAQ
What pH and auxiliary conditions give best uptake?
Acid conditions (low pH) with common leveling agents and mild salt promotion yield even uptake; exact recipe should be piloted for your substrate and equipment.
What fastness can I expect?
Fastness is typically moderate to good—light and wash performance vary by substrate, concentration and after-treatment; test on real samples before scale-up.
Any handling or environmental notes?
Handle as an industrial dye: use PPE, avoid releasing concentrate to drains and treat dyehouse effluent per local regulations. Conduct wastewater treatment/neutralization before discharge.
