Acid Black 1 Appearance is dark brown powder. Soluble in water, blue-black, soluble in ethanol, blue, slightly soluble in acetone, insoluble in other organic solvents. In case of concentrated sulfuric acid, it is blue-green, dilute to form dark green blue precipitate; The concentrated nitric acid is dark green solution, and then converted into sauce red, which is diluted to form a dark green light blue precipitate; when the concentrated nitric acid is dark green solution, it turns into sauce red; when 10% sodium hydroxide solution is brilliant blue. The aqueous solution was concentrated with hydrochloric acid to form a green blue precipitate; a sodium hydroxide solution was added to form a blue precipitate.

Mainly used for wool, silk, polyamide fiber and its blended fabric dyeing and printing, also can be used for paper, electrical-controlled aluminum, soap, wood, biological, leather, medicine and cosmetics shading, also can be used in the manufacture of ink.
Primarily protein fibres (wool, silk) and polyamide (nylon). It gives deepest, most reliable results on wool and nylon.
Use an acid bath method with acetic acid or formic acid; typical pH range 3.5–5.0 for best exhaustion and levelness.
Control liquor ratio, add dye slowly for even distribution, maintain stable temperature ramp-up, and use leveling auxiliary if needed.
Store dry in a cool, ventilated area away from strong oxidizers. Avoid inhalation and contact—use standard PPE and follow local regulations for handling and waste.
