They are copolymers made from vinyl chloride (VC) and vinyl acetate (VAc). By adjusting the VC:VAc ratio and polymerization method (emulsion, suspension, or powder), the physical properties (flexibility, Tg, adhesion, chemical resistance) can be tuned for various applications.
Coatings (architectural & industrial), pressure-sensitive adhesives, textile binders, printing inks, film-forming systems, and specialty adhesives are common uses.
Consider application (coating vs adhesive), required flexibility (higher VAc → more flexible), chemical resistance (higher VC often increases resistance), film formation temperature, and processing method. Request TDS for recommended formulations.
They are generally safe under normal industrial handling. Always follow the SDS for storage, disposal, PPE, and emergency measures. Avoid inhalation of powders and prolonged skin contact with concentrated emulsions.
