High lightfastness - Consistent tinting strength
Technical Grade
Available in 25kg bags, 500kg bulk
Iron Oxide Orange is a stable inorganic pigment offering excellent weather resistance and consistent tinting strength for paints, coatings, plastics, and colored concrete. Optimized for industrial production — available with Certificates of Analysis (COA).
Tinting: 1–5% depending on formula. Dispersion: Use high-shear milling for optimal gloss and hiding power.
Dosing: 0.5–3% by weight of cementitious blend. Pre-dispersal in water reduces streaking.
A paving contractor replaced an organic orange dye with our iron oxide orange for a high-traffic outdoor plaza. After 18 months the color retention exceeded expectations with no significant fading. Contact our technical team for full test results.
We supply technical, construction, and artist grades. For exterior paints choose a high lightfastness technical grade with particle size D50 ~ 1–2 µm and low oil absorption for better dispersion.
Typical dosage ranges 0.5–3% by weight of cementitious material depending on desired chroma. For consistent results we recommend lab trials at 0.5% increments and record cement & aggregate color.
Shelf life is typically 24 months if stored in a cool, dry place in sealed bags. Avoid moisture and direct sunlight; keep bags off the floor on pallets.
Inorganic iron oxides are generally much more lightfast and weather-resistant than many organic orange dyes, making them preferable for outdoor applications.
