Below are practical considerations we include with each TDS to speed formulation:
Regulatory statuses differ by region and by specific chemical. Some benzotriazole UV absorbers have been subject to regulatory review in the EU — always confirm compliance (REACH/ECHA) for the grade you plan to use. Our TDS/COA packages include detailed safety and compliance information per shipment.
Handling: use standard industrial hygiene — dust control for powders, PPE for handling concentrated powders/liquids. Refer to the product SDS for storage and spill procedures.
UV absorbers absorb incoming UV radiation and dissipate it as low-grade heat; HALS (hindered amine light stabilizers) do not absorb UV but interrupt degradation chain reactions by scavenging radicals. Combining UVA + HALS often gives superior long-term protection.
Typical ranges: 0.05%–1.0% for plastics and 0.5%–2.0% for coatings — exact dose depends on polymer, thickness, pigment load and exposure. We provide tailored dosing recommendations after reviewing formulation details.
Not all — triazine-type UV absorbers are generally more heat resistant and better suited for high-temperature processing than some benzotriazoles. Check TGA data and consult our tech team for processing profiles.
